Today is a public holiday. Besides watching the TV broadcast of fireworks, there are works to do for the tomorrow class. The topic is about interactivity and storytelling.

I got the DVD Spectropia by Toni Dove but still couldn’t get it run in a Mac.

Another is one of my favorites, the often quoted example in my study in London, Tristam Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story.

I have not yet finished reading the book. The film is quite different. It is good too, another reflexive and self aware storytelling.

Another example is Bob Bejan’s I’m Your Man. It is a bit silly to wait from time to time in order for the viewers to press the remote to proceed with different choices. I am using the DVD version and the original cinema version has a dedicated device.

I bought the Research Studio cdrom, The Twelve Loveliest Things I Know, from Chris Hales years ago. He does a number more experiments in interactive cinema over the years. Cause and Effect is one of the recent experiment in interactive cinema performance.
